History of the project so far...
This page will be a work in progress like the Parish Centre itself!
Concern to provide inclusive access to the Parish Centre and other facilities saw us investigate putting a ramp up to the present Parish Centre. The estimated cost of just that exercise was about $15000. As the Centre is in a state of disrepair we needed to see what the options were before spending that amount of money on a building which might have a short life.
Inspections by buiders and others took place late 2005. Major repairs were needed to the roof and internal structure to make it acessible, safe and healty environment for those working and using it. So it was decided to look into a complete replacement. Therefore the Site committee was set up to look at the whole Parish precinct. We needed to get an overview of the needes of Parish buildings over the next 10-15 years Inspections of both Parish and School buildings took place by the Committee and an outline of a maintenance and renewal plan emerged.
We then returned to the task of planning for the Parish Centre. Part of this is to work out a better arrangement for vehicle access to the Church and its facilities for parishioners, weddings, funerals and other events.
Raising the money!
In December 2006 we began an appeal to raise money for the project. We invited people to donate or loan money for the project. The brochure giving all the details can be viewed here: Page 1 and here: Page 2

This is the proposal to be submitted to the Archdiocese. This has a greatly reduced floor space to reduce cost. But has room for future expansion.
