Latest News about Jack
Hi all,
This is an update on Jack now 4.5 wks post stroke and 3 weeks post commencement of rehab. Jack has had a mixed week this week in rehab. He continues to do well with his balance and walking and the physio remains delighted with progress.
His right hand usage is improving and more refined. His writing is stronger and more legible and he can write for longer periods. Now on a touch typing programme which should be the long term plan for him.
His language continues to come on culminating in a good five minute presentation of his week over the dinner table last night which was full of enthusiasm and info some of which was discernable. The gesticulations help enormously. There is no doubt his enthusiasm to communicate is growing and it is great to see. Still uses wrong words in wrong sequences but guides you nonverbally to the answer.
He has been involved in school at RCH this week and continues to enjoy his maths. Tried to get him on "my space" this week to communicate with friends but did not want to do it. He had a tough day and was tired on Thursday so Wendy brought him home earlier on Friday - we were all excited to get him home earlier than expected for the weekend. It is delightful to see that contented face with the cat on his lap with all the kids in the evening.
We remain over the moon with progress to date and continue to thank you all so very much for your continued thoughts and prayers which do so much.
Love and kind regards
Tom and Wendy
